Once you have completed your application, upload your documents.

To apply in branch please submit a fully completed loan application form.

Documents required

  • Three months’ current bank statements (Revolut statements, if applicable)
  • Proof of income

You can send your documents by email to loans@inishowencu.ie (PDFs preferred) or upload them via our online banking uploader.

We also offer Open Banking, which authorises us to view your bank statements directly—this can help speed up your application.

Photographic ID, proof of address, and proof of PPS number may be requested if advised by our staff. Please note, the Public Service Card cannot be accepted as proof of PPS number.

All loan applications are subject to approval.

• A copy of 2 years recent accounts filed with the Revenue Commissioners,

• Tax letter issued by the Revenue Commissioners for the most recent tax year,

• Chapter 4 form for the most recent tax year,

• Business and personal bank statements for the previous three months ending in the month prior to the loan application.

• A fully completed loan application.

There are no penalties for early loan repayments and as interest is only calculated on the reducing balance you may pay less interest on your loan.

The maximum that one person can borrow in total from us is €80,000

No, as long as you have €10 in (the minimum requirement to be a member) you can apply for a loan.

Visit any of our three branches—Buncrana, Carndonagh, or Moville—with valid photo ID and proof of address. You’ll be asked to complete a current membership application form.

Yes an account can be opened at any age. Under 16 can only be opened in branch and will need a parent or guardian to open the account.

We will need the parents, photo ID and Proof of address and the child's birth certificate.

When your child turns 16, their account must be updated to an adult account. They should visit the office with valid photo ID and proof of address (a letter from their school is accepted).

Once updated, the account will be classified as an adult account, giving full access, including online access.

You can open a new sole account online by downloading the Inishowen Credit Union app, entering your details, and uploading the required documents.

Alternatively, you can visit any of our branches and complete an application form in person.

Please note that joint accounts, minor accounts, and reactivating closed or dormant accounts must be completed in-branch.

You will need Photo ID and proof of address dated within the last 6 months.

A nomination is a legally binding, written instruction that tells the Credit Union what to do with your savings after your death.

It is important because it ensures your savings go to the person or people you choose, helping to avoid delays or complications for your loved ones.
